FG Says it has Adequate Storage Facility for the Covid-19 Vaccine

In a bid to quell the speculations on Nigeria's inability to store the much expected 100,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, the Federal Government has assured that the country has the capacity to store up to 400,000 doses of the expected COVID-19 vaccines.

The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency NPHCDA Dr. Faisal Shuaib who made this known today during a tour of the National Strategic Cold Store in Abuja noted that the National Strategic Cold Store NSCS houses three ultra-cold chain equipment with a combined capacity of 2,100 litres and operate at a temperature of -85 degrees Celsius.

The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency NPHCDA said that the federal government has developed a comprehensive vaccine deployment plan with adequate storage capacity to the keep covid-19 vaccines, assuring that the agency is working with other relevant agencies to ensure the vaccines are safe and secure before they are administered.

Our Correspondent Nathan Williams reports that many have expressed concerns if Nigeria has adequate cooling facilities to store the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
