Fuel Crisis To End Soon, No Plan To Hike Fuel Price - FG

The Federal Government has reaffirmed that Nigeria will achieve self-sufficiency in petroleum products by the end of the year 2019. Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Ibe Kachiukwu gave the assurance at a media briefing on the forthcoming Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS) in Abuja.

The minister reiterated that government does not intend to hike the prices of petroleum products, while he assured Nigerians that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is working round the clock to ensure adequate supply of petroleum products across the country.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister also addressed the issues surrounding the recent drop in crude oil price in the international market. Speaking on the forthcoming summit expected to be opened by President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Kachiukwu said the summit which will commence from 18th to 22nd of February 2018, is aimed at attracting investment into the oil and gas industry in the country.
