Media Implored To Join The Fight Against Corruption, Not To Mock

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has implored the media to join Present Administration's fight against corruption rather than mock the crusade. Declaring open the 68th General Assembly of the Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja today, the Minister said all hands must be on deck in the anti-corruption war which has caused infrastructural deficit, economic downturn and many ills in the nation. He reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s determination to eradicate corruption and ensure the nation’s development.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu also charged the media to carry out investigative reportage to expose corrupt practices in the country which has eaten deep into our system. He however lamented the unwholesome practices of media proprietors and journalists which has marred the anti-corruption crusade.
