Nigeria Labour Congress dismisses notice of nation wide strike

News

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has dismissed a notice of nationwide strike allegedly scheduled for Monday.

There was statement purportedly signed by General Secretary of NLC and Secretary General of TUC, Emmanuel Ugboaja and Nuhu Toro respectively, that a nationwide strike would commence on Monday.

However, the NLC’S Head of Information and Public Affairs, Mr Benson Upah, said in a statement on Sunday, that the notice is fake news and there is no such notice of strike from them.

He said concerned Nigerians were advised to ignore the notice and clarified that the NLC have no intention of initiating any strike action this period.
