The Upper Chamber’s resolution was sequel to a ‎motion on the urgent need to avoid the imminent disruption of full academic activities and closure of the University of Maiduguri over incessant terrorist’s attacks sponsored by Senator Baba Kaka from Borno Central Senatorial district and forty five others at Wednesday's plenary.

Senator Kaka noted the worrisome state of the University leading to the resignation of over 70 Professors, several students and staffs.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Lawmaker was also disturbed that the current porous state of the security in the institution has exacerbated the situation and made the attacks more frequent and damaging.

In his remarks the President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki said that ‎the Minister of Education and TETFund must take action to restore normalcy, as government owe this to the staff and students.
