Pres. Buhari, Senate Pres. Meet Over APC Crisis, Insecurity

President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Ahmed Lawan, have met at the presidential villa, Abuja to explore ways to resolve the leadership and internal crisis in the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) party.

Lawan told State House correspondents after the meeting Monday that the crisis in the ruling party will be addressed in the next few days following the discussion as they believe that instability in the governing party can cause disruption in the country.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Senate President disclosed that the meeting also discussed the worsening insecurity in the country. He stated that the National Assembly would also welcome a supplementary budget from the Executive for the specific purpose of increasing funding for the security agencies to do their work.

The Senate President called for the resignation of any security head that could still not prove their worth after the additional funding, while commending President Buhari for the stern warning issued to the security chiefs.
