Thirty-three nations have secured spots at the 48-team 2026 FIFA World Cup, including hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Africa has nine teams qualified, while Asia, Europe, South America, and Oceania have also confirmed multiple entrants.
Nigeria and DR Congo will clash in the African playoff final in Morocco on Sunday after DR Congo beat Cameroon 1-0 and Nigeria defeated Gabon 4-1 in the semi-finals.
The winner will advance to the six-team intercontinental qualifier in Mexico by March 2026, which will decide the final two World Cup spots for next year’s tournament in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
