Brooke Hogan has explained why she chose not to attend the funeral of her late father, WWE legend Hulk Hogan, who died of a heart attack on July 24 at age 71.

The private funeral was held on August 5 in Clearwater, Florida, with guests including Kid Rock, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon. Brooke, however, was notably absent, having been estranged from her father for the past two years.

Later that day, Brooke, 37, shared an Instagram post showing moments with her husband, Steven Oleksy, and their twins, Oliver and Molly, born in January 2025. In the caption, she said her father disliked funerals and preferred not to have one.

“As his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him in the most genuine way I knew—privately,” she wrote. “The only thing missing today was him in his pop-up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset 💔.”
