The Federal Government has launched a comprehensive personnel verification exercise across all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), including overseas offices, to update civil service records and support ongoing workforce reforms.
The exercise, led by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) in partnership with Philips Consulting and other HR firms, will run from October 16 to November 14, 2025.
According to Head of Service Dr. Didi Walson-Jack, the project will create a reliable database capturing not only staff numbers but also skills, competencies, and workforce distribution. The goal is to enable evidence-based planning, training, recruitment, and succession across the federal civil service.
The verification aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s earlier directive for a Personnel and Salary System Governance Audit to enhance efficiency and professionalism in the public sector.
All civil servants are expected to participate and provide accurate information during the process.
