Coachella 2026 Kicks Off with 25 Years of Classics

Coachella has been a mainstay of the festival calendar since 1999, bringing together major names from Madonna to Beyoncé. Since 2012, it has taken place over two three-day weekends in April—except in 2020 and 2021, when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In its first year, Beck, Tool and Rage Against the Machine topped the inaugural bill, highlighting the festival’s rock origins. Over time, artists like Prince, Beyoncé and Lady Gaga have headlined. This year’s headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, Anyma and Justin Bieber, who already gave a stellar performance introducing Afrobeats Stars WIZKID and TEMZ for a live rendition of their global smash Hit “Essence”.

The festival has delivered several unforgettable moments, including Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre performing with a hologram of Tupac Shakur in 2012 and Beyoncé’s celebration of Black culture in 2018.
