De Bruyne missed a golden chance to score on his 142^nd and final home league appearance, but left the pitch to a standing ovation in the 69^th minute.

The win moves City up to third, needing just a point at Fulham on Sunday to secure Champions League football.

The win ensured Palace fans partied with inflatable trophies as chants of “We’re going to Europe” rang out — with Europa League qualification already secured.
