Nollywood actress and filmmaker Fathia Williams has announced the death of her mother, days after celebrating her 55th birthday. The actress shared the heartbreaking news on her verified social media page, explaining that her mother passed away shortly before the birthday celebration in Lagos. Family members chose not to inform her immediately so she could enjoy the milestone event.

Balogun described her late mother as her biggest supporter, prayer partner and closest confidant, noting that the loss has left her deeply shaken. She admitted that the reality of her mother’s death has been difficult to process, especially coming so soon after a moment of joy. The family said they will announce burial arrangements later and requested privacy as they mourn.
