The Federal Government has filed criminal charges against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for alleged defamation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello.
The charges stem from a TV interview where Akpoti-Uduaghan accused both men of plotting to assassinate her. A third count accuses her of linking Akpabio to a disturbing organ harvesting claim involving a murdered woman.
The government says her remarks were reckless, malicious, and a threat to national security.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was not in court as she refused service from bailiffs. Justice Orji, however, ordered that efforts should not be spared in ensuring that she is served before the next adjourned date.
