A group of Ghanaians staged a protest against Nigerians, accusing them of promoting prostitution, ritual killings, kidnappings, and other crimes in Ghana.
In a viral video on Tuesday, protesters held placards with messages like “Nigerians are kidnapping and using people for rituals” and “Our kids are going missing because of Igbos.” They also displayed a photo of a man they claimed a Nigerian killed in Accra.
One protester demanded Nigerians leave, saying, “You can’t be in someone’s country and behave anyhow.” Others claimed Nigerians had taken over markets and were causing unrest.
The protest echoes tensions from 1983, when Nigeria expelled undocumented immigrants—mostly Ghanaians—under the “Ghana Must Go” directive.
As of now, the Ghanaian government has not officially responded.
