A group of Ghanaians staged a protest against Nigerians, accusing them of promoting prostitution, ritual killings, kidnappings, and other crimes in Ghana.
In a viral video on Tuesday, protesters held placards with messages like âNigerians are kidnapping and using people for ritualsâ and âOur kids are going missing because of Igbos.â They also displayed a photo of a man they claimed a Nigerian killed in Accra.
One protester demanded Nigerians leave, saying, âYou canât be in someoneâs country and behave anyhow.â Others claimed Nigerians had taken over markets and were causing unrest.
The protest echoes tensions from 1983, when Nigeria expelled undocumented immigrantsâmostly Ghanaiansâunder the âGhana Must Goâ directive.
As of now, the Ghanaian government has not officially responded.
