has commended past and present leaders in the state who contributed to the development of the BLUE LINE RAIL which was commissioned yesterday by President Mohammadu Buhari.
At the Commissioning, the State Governor had noted the landmark achievement is a testament that “the years of oppression of Lagos are over” – and “it can only get better for everyone in the state”, more so that an agreement has been signed for the Construction of the second phase of the Blue rail line.
The Governor said the rail project was conceived to meet the transport needs of the ever increasing population of Lagos, while the transit target for the entire Blue Line R to convey five hundred thousand people per day.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, said the transportation strategy of the Lagos State Government is multimodal, bringing together the various elements of road, rail and water in a seamless manner that makes commuting an interesting experience.
