Preparations are in top gear for the maiden 10km Capital City Race, holding this Saturday in Ikeja, Lagos.
Briefing newsmen yesterday, Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission Lekan Fatodu, says the state government welcomes individuals or corporate bodies who are ready to key into the THEMES-plus agenda of the state government.
The convener of the marathon, Dapo Ajayi, said the 10km marathon aimed at fostering healthier living among Lagos residents, will involve about 1,000 runners and is expected to kick off at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Runners will start at the Ikeja Mall and through Billings Way then take a loop to Kudirat Abiola Way to enter Opebi Link Bridge.
The first-place winner will go home with N500,000; second prize 300,000; and third prize, N200,000.
