Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct the Anambra State Governorship election on Saturday, November 8, 2025, and the FCT area council elections on February 21, 2026.

INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, announced this during a consultative meeting with political parties yesterday in Abuja.

On bye-elections, Professor Yakubu raised concerns over the increasing frequency and financial burden, noting that 14 new vacancies have risen in the past year, placing additional strain on the Commission’s resources.
