The Kebbi State Government has dismissed reports alleging it contracted a Chinese security firm, G-Safety, to assist in addressing banditry and criminal activity in the state.
In a statement released Friday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, labeled the reports circulating on social media and some news platforms as “false, misleading, and entirely baseless.”
He clarified that the administration of Governor Nasir Idris has not signed any agreement or entered into any form of partnership with any foreign security company.
“The Government wishes to categorically state that no such agreement or contract has been signed with any foreign security company,” the statement read.
Idris reiterated the state’s commitment to improving security in partnership with established Nigerian forces, including the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police, and other paramilitary agencies.
The government urged the public to disregard the misinformation and rely only on official communication for verified updates.
