Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey made headlines at the Cannes Film Festival, accepting a lifetime achievement award from the Better World Fund — marking his first public appearance at the event since 2016.
The actor, who has faced multiple sexual assault allegations, told reporters, “It’s very nice to be back,” and added he was “glad to be working again.”
Spacey was acquitted of charges in the UK last year and previously had a $40 million U.S. lawsuit dismissed. However, new claims surfaced in a British documentary aired in 2023.
While the Cannes Festival enforces a strict no-tolerance policy on misconduct, organizers declined to comment on Spacey’s presence.
