The Lagos State Government has assured property owners that those with valid planning permits will be fairly compensated if their buildings are demolished due to road construction.
Speaking at a public awareness event, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, emphasized the importance of obtaining proper permits to avoid losses. He urged residents in areas like Ojo, Badagry, and Amuwo to comply with planning regulations, adding that demolitions will not occur in approved layouts such as the Trade Fair area.
Olumide reaffirmed the state’s commitment to orderly urban development and protecting property rights.
