The Lagos State Government has reiterated its stand on the ban on styrofoam packs in the state.
The state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this in a statement on X on Thursday, however, noted that at a consultative meeting with stakeholders, producers and distributors, a moratorium of three weeks have been given, after which full enforcement will start.
Recall that the state government, had last Sunday, announced the ban on the use and distribution of Styrofoam and other single-use plastics across the state, owing largely to the havoc and destruction caused to public utility.
