The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has announced an extension of the deadline for employers to file their annual tax returns.
The new deadline will now be from February 1 to February 7, 2024.
According to a statement by the Executive Chairman of LIRS, Ayodele Subair, the extension is a result of the recent downtime experienced on the e-tax portal.
Similarly, the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has extended deadline of Annual Tax Returns filings from Jan. 31 to Feb. 29 for organisations and employers of labour in the FCT.
The FCT-IRS Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Mustapha Sumaila, in a statement yesterday said the extension is to enable organisations and employers of labour as well as agents who have not filed their annual returns to seize this opportunity to do so.
