The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that the Lassa fever death toll has reached 177 in 2025.
The case fatality rate now stands at 18.3%, up from 16.5% in 2024. As of Week 44, Nigeria has recorded 966 confirmed cases across 21 states, with four states (Ondo, Bauchi, Edo, Taraba) accounting for 87% of cases.
The predominant age group affected is 21-30 years. The NCDC continues to coordinate response activities nationwide.
