Malcolm‑Jamal Warner Dies at 54 in Costa Rica Drowning

Malcolm‑Jamal Warner, acclaimed for his role as Theodore “Theo” Huxtable on The Cosby Show, tragically passed away at age 54 on July 20, 2025, during a family beach outing in Costa Rica.

He was reportedly caught in a powerful rip current off Playa Cocles (Caribbean coast, Limón province), where bystanders pulled him ashore.

Despite the best efforts of CPR-trained rescuers and Costa Rica’s Red Cross, Warner was pronounced dead at the scene—officially ruled as accidental drowning by asphyxia.
