During a recent performance in Mexico City, Colombian artist Maluma paused his show to address a situation in the crowd involving a young child.
The 31-year-old musician noticed a baby in the audience and took a moment to express concern for the child’s well-being, particularly due to the high noise levels typical of live concerts. Speaking in Spanish, he respectfully questioned the decision to bring an infant to such a loud event, noting the apparent lack of ear protection.
“Is the baby about a year old? Maybe younger?” he asked the parent. “Do you really think it’s safe to expose a baby to sound this intense? They don’t even understand what’s going on.”
He continued, urging the adult to take more responsibility. “Next time, please protect their ears. Seriously. You’re holding them like they’re a toy, but that baby doesn’t want to be here. I say this with love and respect—as a father myself, I would never do that.”
Maluma became a parent in March 2024, when he and his partner, Susana Gomez, welcomed their daughter, Paris. They shared the news on social media, calling her “the love of our lives.”
Since becoming a dad, Maluma—whose full name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias—has spoken openly about how fatherhood has changed his perspective and strengthened his desire to set a good example for his child.
