Telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria has launched a brand-new reality music competition aimed at discovering the country’s next breakout Afrobeats sensation.
The show, called Next Afrobeats Star, promises a grand prize of a $100,000 music deal for the winner. Four other finalists will also receive recording deals valued between $25,000 and $75,000.
MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, says the show is part of the brand’s commitment to spotlighting youth creativity and growing Nigeria’s cultural footprint worldwide.
