The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed fake, expired, and substandard products valued at ₦15 billion in Ibadan, Oyo State.
NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye—represented by Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Martins Iluyomade—stated the move aims to protect public health and prevent unsafe products from re-entering the market.
Among the items destroyed were banned and unregistered drugs, including codeine syrup, tramadol, Analgin, oxytocin, Cocodamol, and various vaccines.
Adeyeye emphasized ongoing collaboration with security agencies and urged the public to avoid unlicensed drug vendors. The Nigeria Customs Service also reaffirmed its support in curbing the distribution of harmful products nationwide.
