Nigeria Immigration Service has launched the second phase of its contactless biometric passport application system in the U.S., Mexico, Jamaica and Brazil.
A statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, and posted yesterday on its official ‘X’ page noted that while the new system begun in the U.S. on April 11, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil follows suit today April 14.
The contactless passport application system, launched in Canada on Nov. 5, 2024, is available on Google Play Store, and is designed to allow Nigerians to renew their passports without visiting any Passport Centre for Biometrics enrollment.
It is expected to be rolled out in Australia and Nigeria in due course.Â
