President Tinubu has directed the opening of Nigeria’s land and air borders with the Republic of Niger and the immediate lifting of other sanctions against the country.
In a statement yesterday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale said the presidential directive complies with decisions of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) at its February extraordinary summit.
The president also ordered the lifting of the suspension on all commercial and financial transactions between Nigeria and Niger, as well as unfreezing all service transactions, including utility services and electricity to the country.
President Tinubu also approved the lifting of financial and economic sanctions against the Republic of Guinea.
