In response to rising insecurity in Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Angelo Chidi Unegbu advised communities under attack to reject pastors who tell them to solely depend on God for protection.
Reacting to deadly attacks in Benue State that left over 200 dead, the priest warned that such preachers inadvertently aid aggressors by promoting passivity.

He urged people to unite beyond religious differences, strategize, and protect themselves rather than waiting passively for miracles. “Insecurity calls for action, not just prayers,” he said, emphasizing that life preservation is paramount.
