The Federal Government has announced the upcoming launch of the ‘Renewed Hope’ Empowerment Initiative, aimed at supporting petty traders across the thirty-six states of the federation.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu who revealed this during a meeting with the wives of state governors, who also doubles as the State Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, at the State House, in Abuja, Thursday, outlined the empowerment scheme plan to provide N50,000 grant each,to 1,000 Women Petty Traders in the 36 States and the FCT.
The initiative which has its official launch scheduled for August 22, 2024, aims to recapitalize existing small businesses and foster their growth.
First Lady Tinubu however urged states that have not yet submitted their list of beneficiaries to do so promptly.
“In Agriculture, we will be working with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADFUND) has also reached out to us to train female farmers in each State and FCT”.
She noted that these and other policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are all geared towards ensuring a more prosperous people and nation.
“In Education, RHI is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Education, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), and the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD).
It is also worthy of note that the unveiling of 200 Awardees under the AUDA NEPAD/ RHI Scholarship Programme will take place tomorrow, 1st of August, 2024”.
