Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested four suspected vandals and house burglars notorious for breaking into homes across the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Friday, noting that the suspects were apprehended in Dambatta, Fagge, and Tarauni Local Government Areas. He said the men have confessed to their crimes and were caught with stolen items.
Recovered exhibits include nine mobile phones, three standing fans, three solar panels, a bicycle, a flat-screen TV, two bundles of wires, two burglar-proof windows, iron materials, three MP3 speakers, a small solar panel, a power bank, and three motor tyres.
Abdullahi said the arrests were part of the command’s intensified efforts to curb vandalism and burglary in Kano. “The NSCDC under the leadership of Commandant Bala Bodinga remains committed to safeguarding national assets and protecting lives and property,” he stated.
He added that investigations have been concluded and the suspects will be charged to court soon. The command also urged residents to assist security agencies by reporting suspicious activities to help combat crime across the state.
This development follows a previous report in September, when the Kano NSCDC apprehended 19 suspects linked to vandalism in various parts of the state.
