Former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama have addressed persistent rumors about their marriage.
Appearing together on the āIMOā podcast hosted by Michelleās brother, Craig Robinson, on Wednesday, the couple joked about public speculation. When Robinson noted it was nice to have them in the same room, Michelle replied, āI know, because when we arenāt, folks think weāre divorced.ā
Barack said he often misses such rumors entirely. āSomebody will mention it to me, and Iām like, āWhat are you talking about?āā he said.
Michelle reaffirmed their bond, stating, āThere hasnāt been one moment in our marriage where Iāve thought about quitting on my man⦠Iāve become a better person because of the man Iām married to.ā
She previously addressed similar rumors during an NPR interview, noting that just because the public doesnāt see them together constantly doesnāt mean thereās trouble. āThe fact that people donāt see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors,ā she said.
The Obamas, married since 1992, have two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and have been together for over 30 years.
