The Ogun State Police Command foiled a robbery attempt in Sagamu early Wednesday, recovering a black Lexus GS 350 used by the suspects.

Police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola said officers from Sakura Division responded swiftly to a distress call around 1:45 a.m. after five armed men tried to break into a residence in Okearedi, Araromi. The robbers fled on sighting the patrol team, leaving their vehicle behind, which contained fireworks allegedly meant to distract victims.

Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo praised the officers’ quick action and said security had been strengthened across the state, urging residents to stay alert and keep their surroundings well lit.
