Ahead of the 2025 international youth day, OVL Foundation has officially kick-started the 9ja Youth Drive initiative aiming to empower over 1,800 Nigerian youths with vocational and tech skills across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
Convener of the initiative, Omobolanle Victor Laniyan said the program, targeting individuals aged 18–45, also offers startup resources and a ₦1 million prize for top participants in an upcoming hackathon.
With 641 beneficiaries already trained in Delta State and over 2,200 more in progress, the initiative aims to reach 6,000 youths by year-end, supported by IHS Nigeria and other partners.
Leaders of the initiative emphasized its inclusive approach, particularly for vulnerable groups, and called for greater private sector participation to combat critical skills shortages.
The press event also previewed upcoming highlights including the Grand Finale on International Youth Day, celebrating transformative impacts on Nigeria’s youth.
