PASAN Lagos Demands Release of Arrested Members

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Lagos State Chapter, has demanded the immediate release of their members arrested by the Department of State Service while also condeming the actions of the Nigerian secret police.

At a news conference, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Lagos chapter Comrade Babatunde Ogunlana said two sergeant-at-Arms officers and also an officer from the Public Affairs unit are been detained by the DSS for preventing the armed secret police personnel from entering into the chamber on Monday 17th February,2025 contrary to House norms.

Comrade Ogunlana notes that the Union demands the immediate release of the detained staffs,called for thorough investigation into the alleged torture of the detained members and called upon the DSS to uphold the rule of law and ensure the safety of the detained staff of the association.

The State Chairman of PASAN, however   called on the Director General of the DSS to intervene by quashing the frivolous arrest of the association and ensure their immediate release,called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state to ensure justice is served and called on Civil Society Organisation to rise to the defence of democracy and rule of law as injury to one is injury to all.
