The Presidency says it has observed the increasing number of billboards in some cities promoting the 2027 campaign for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement yesterday however noted that the two leaders do not support any premature campaign that weakens our institutions, the electoral process, or breach the laws of the land.

It added that until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sets the timetable for the 2027 elections, the President has not endorsed or authorised anyone or group to mount a 2027 campaign for him through any media channel.

The President, therefore, called on individuals and groups funding the 2027 political campaign nationwide to cease immediately.
