President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has allocated $1.3 million in funding for the national football team, the Super Eagles, ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

According to a tweet by Photojournalist Adepoju Tobi Samuel, President Tinubu approved the sum to support the Super Eagles in their quest to lift the AFCON title again.

Nigeria will kick start their journey with a tricky tie against Equatorial Guinea on January 14th, 24 hours after the 2023 AFCON kicked off in Ivory Coast.
