In its bid to reduce cost of governance and eliminate the duplication of functions by several departments and agencies, the Federal Government has resolved to implement part of the Stephen Oronsaye Panel report to merge some parastatals, while others will be subsumed, scrapped or relocated.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris clarified that this does not mean that the workers employed under the “scrapped or merged MDAs” will become unemployed, but rather will be redeployed to other agencies of government.
