President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to actively address historical grievances and work towards building a united and prosperous nation for future generations.
In a special message to commemorate the 2024 Ogoni Martyrs Remembrance Day, President Tinubu in a statement yesterday said he stands in solidarity with the National Youth Council of Ogoni People (NYCOP) and all Ogoni citizens to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the Ogoni nation’s interests.
Oil was first commercially discovered in Oloibiri, Ogoniland, in 1958. Others were Saturday Dobee, Nordu Eawo, Daniel Gbooko, Paul Levera, Felix Nuate, Baribor Bera, Barinem Kiobel, and John Kpuine.
