President Bola Tinubu has relieved five Ministers of their duties as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Ministers are the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, and Minister of Youth Development Jamila Bio Ibrahim.
Announcing the development to newsmen yesterday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga said the move is part of the implementation of eight far-reaching actions by Mr. President to reinvigorate the administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency.
Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Mr Onanuga further revealed that Mr President also appointed seven new ministers including Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of late leader of the Republic of Biafra, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, subject to Senate’s approval adding that 10 others will now oversee other ministries.
Onanuga also stated that President Tinubu approved the appointment of Shehu Dikko as the chairman of the newly created National Sports Commission while former Minister of sports Sunday Dare has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.
