British actor and comedian, Russell Brand, has denied the allegations of rape, indecent assault and sexual assault made against him by the Metropolitan Police.

The charges relate to four separate women and incidents that took place between 1999 and 2005.

In a video uploaded on X, formerly Twitter, Brand thanked his fans for their support and declared that he had never been a rapist or engaged in non-consensual sex.

Brand is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court for a first hearing on May 2nd.
