The Nigerian Senate has reaffirmed its dedication to a careful and independent review of concurrence bills received from the House of Representatives.
Speaking to the chamber at plenary, Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele noted reports in sections of the media on Concurrence issues, as he emphasized that while legislative cooperation is guided by the principle of chamber reciprocity, this does not equate to automatic approval without proper examination.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio also noted recent progress, confirming that six House bills were addressed last week, while at least two more bills are slated for consideration this week, underscoring the Senate’s ongoing commitment to collaborative lawmaking.
