South East Caucus Calls for Reopening of Onitsha Bridgehead Market

The South East Caucus in the House of Representatives has urged the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to consider reopening the Onitsha Bridgehead Market in Anambra.

The leader of the caucus, Hon. Igariwey Enwo at news conference on Tuesday, said that the caucus condemn the activities of unscrupulous traders in the market who engage in the business of production and distribution of fake and adulterated medications and drugs.

Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that Hon. Enwo, however, urged NAFDAC not to punish innocent and genuine traders and medicine users alongside the alleged criminals, while tasking the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) to ensure all boarders are better protected to nip in the bud the influx of fake and adulterated drugs into this country.
