Activist Omoyele Sowore has announced a peaceful protest for October 20 at Aso Rock, Abuja, to demand the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu remains in detention despite court rulings for his release.
Sowore urged Southeast leaders governors, lawmakers, and traditional rulers to join the march, emphasizing that action is needed, not just words.
He stated he had contacted several key figures, including Peter Obi, Alex Otti, Charles Soludo, and Atiku Abubakar, calling for unity in demanding Kanu’s freedom. Kanu has been held by the DSS since his 2021 re-arrest and faces terrorism and treason charges.
