Benjamin Okoh is a multiple award-winning broadcast journalist, born in Kaduna where his parents where based. Soon after, as a baby relocated with his parents to Lagos post-civil war early 70’s. He had his primary, secondary and university education in Lagos. That innate desire for music in him was quickly discovered by his parents ‘cos at 12 he was a chorister at Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church (now Cathedral) which helped tremendously in “2shing” him up ‘cos of the church’s high standards.
While in high school at Ikeja Grammar School, he represented the school at dance and singing competitions and by mid eighties (after school) he formed different pro dance and music groups and thereafter went into Disc Jockeying whose services were enjoyed by A-Class clubs – Lords Club, Deroof, Pyramid, K’s Place, Club Tower, Mega Plaza, A-Bar et al and the corporate world – Citibank, Zain, CPMS et al. His vast music repertoire is premised on this background.
He first got introduced to Radio in 2004 and joined Classic FM 97.3 in April 2010. He holds a BSc and Masters degrees in Mass Communication with a bias for Public Relations and Advertising from both Lagos State University, Ojo and the University of Lagos, Akoka plus certification in Radio/TV presentation and Commentary. He is a YALI alumnus.
