President Bola Tinubu will today inaugurate the National Disaster Relief Fund Committee, to be chaired by Tony Elumelu. 

The Fund Committee, which includes Director General of National Emergency Management Agency, Ministers of Health, Budget, Aviation, Water Resources and Environment, will be mandated to establish a nationwide framework for disaster response and climate resilience in Nigeria.

Comprising stakeholders from both public and private sectors, it will serve as a central repository for the federal government’s emergency response resources for disaster management, complementing the efforts already being undertaken by Nigeria’s existing emergency management agencies.
