President Bola Tinubu has formally inaugurated the new 11-man board and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), seven weeks after their appointment on April 2, 2025, urging the board members to approach their task with transparency and a commitment to national progress.
The brief ceremony yesterday, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, saw the swearing-in of Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman and Bashir Ojulari as the Group Chief Executive Officer, alongside other members of the board.
Speaking during the ceremony, President Tinubu expressed strong confidence in the new leadership, describing them as individuals who bring credibility and value to the country’s oil and gas industry.
Addressing State House Correspondents after the inauguration held in Abuja, Kida pledged to steer the board toward enhanced corporate performance, noting that the Board has already begun acting on the directives given by President Tinubu, including boosting oil production, revamping the country’s refineries, attracting foreign direct investment, and laying a foundation for the future of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
