The United Kingdom will increase visa, residency and citizenship fees from April 8, 2026, impacting Nigerians and other foreign applicants.
Short-term visit visas will rise from £127 to £135, while student visas increase from £524 to £558. Skilled worker and other work visa categories also see notable hikes.
Permanent residency fees go up to £3,226, and British citizenship applications increase to £1,709. However, the cost of registering a child as a British citizen drops to £1,000.
Most visa categories are affected, with only a few remaining unchanged. The changes apply to applications made both in and outside the UK.
